Adetayo Adetuyi

Adetayo is an associate in the Firm’s Energy, Natural Resources and Project and Corporate and Commercial practice groups. He advises and represents banks, insurance companies, equity sponsors, companies and investors on complex financing transactions, project development transactions. He has particular expertise in energy related infrastructure and project financings, including advising sponsors, operators and investors on a wide range of transactions involving offshore oil and gas exploration and production facilities, floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) units, gas processing facilities, utilities, real estate and infrastructure and tax related issues.


Before joining Sefton Fross, Adetayo worked as in-house counsel to an Independent Power Plant (IPP) developer where he gained a working knowledge of the Nigerian electricity industry from a business perspective and played an important role in advising and negotiating several transactions for the company. In particular, Adetayo played an active role in negotiating key terms of the company’s gas sale and purchase agreement, gas transportation agreement and power purchase agreement.

    • Advised a client on its acquisition of concession to explore for platinum gold metals in Zimbabwe.

    • Played an active role in negotiating key terms of the Power Purchase Agreement of an IPP developer with the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc.
